Chapter 4: Crossover

Lore Death 2 and Vampire:

Vampires are considered to be living beings for the purposes of this Lore. It does not simply remove their Stamina and disintegrate them.

Lore of Death 4 and Crossover:

Other supernaturals are, for the most part, considered “demons” for determining the effects of this power. The exceptions are ghouls, sorcerers, psychics, thralls, and kinfolk, who are all considered mortals.

Lore of the Spirit and Projected Entities:

Projecting Entities, such as a vampire using Auspex 5 may be affected, though at +2 difficulty for the demon’s evocation rolls.

Lore of the Spirit 4-5 /Lore of the Forge 5 and Crossover:

These Lore levels will affect any disembodied spirit, including nature spirits from the Werewolf venue. It is unlikely, however, that a demon will be able to successfully trap such spirits unless they manifest physically, as demons have no method of seeing into the Middle Umbra.

Anything trying to posses demons:

Unless a demon is currently at 0 faith, they can NOT be possessed or kicked from the host body. If by chance, a demon who’s faith has fallen to the temp of 0, they loose the ability to remain immune to possession. If a wraith (Or otherwise) possesses a demon at this critical moment, the demon is kicked from the body and forced to seek out a new anchor immediately, or be drawn back to the abyss. Demons still get to resist this, even at faith 0, with a resisted willpower roll.. (Before this is even attempted, a Demon ST needs to be present to witness the scene itself.)

Demons and Arcane:

Demons are not affected by a Mage's Arcane rating while in their presence. They may not add dice to their stealth pool, nor deduct dice from a Demon's perception roll. However, if a Demon actively tries to gather information on a Mage with Arcane, they are subject to the deduction of the Mage's Arcane rating from all gather information rolls.

Demons and Mage:

Demons with Torment of 7 or higher (as well as any relics they might create) have Qlippothic Resonance equal to their Torment minus six. Mages who choose to hang out with demons may start to pick up this Resonance. The price you pay for infernal consorting.

Demons and Werewolf:

Demons are considered to be Wyrm-tainted at Torment 7 or higher. Demons of Torment 2 or lower detect as Wyld creatures, with the exception of Devourers (who detect as Gaian) and Fiends as well as Malefactors (who detect as Weaverish).

Demons and Changeling:

Demons have a Banality rating of 6. Period, end of story. This doesn’t increase or decrease due to raise or lowering of torment.

Revelation and Crossover:

Any PC who is considered immune to the Delirium is also immune to Revelation. Otherwise, he or she is affected as per page 254 of the core book. A short recap: The character must make a Willpower roll, difficulty of the demon’s Faith. If this roll is failed, the character is incapacitated with awe; the only action she may take is to flee if threatened. The character will later pass it off as a dream or hallucination, or forget about it altogether. One success allows the character to take action normally and remember that something exceptional happened, though not the details, two successes provides basic details, and three successes allows the character to remember everything that took place with crystal detail.

Enochian and Crossover:

The Enochian spoken by demons is much more advanced and dynamic language than that used by Hermetics and other mortal magicians; for a student of Enochian as an ancient language, listening to demons speak their language is like someone who only knows Old English trying to keep up with American television. A Perception+Linguistics roll, difficulty 8, is required to grasp the basics of what the other party is saying.

Orpheus

Lore of the Spirit works at +2 difficulty against all Orpheus Characters. Illusions created by ghosts, from Inhabit to Bedlam to Draw Forth, give Demons a Perception+Alertness roll, difficulty 7. A successful roll means the Demon is not affected by the power in any way. Demons are immune to Unearthly Repose, Wail, or other effects that cause mind-control, emotional control, or supernatural fear while they have a point of Temporary Faith in their pools. Wail may still be used to physically harm a Demon, as normal, however.

Lore of the Spirit and Orpheus:

Lore of the Spirit affects Orpheus ghosts the same way it would affect wraiths, as that Lore pre-dates the Shadowlands and is more concerned with the stuff of the human soul than anything else. +2 difficulty to use this lore against Orpheans and projected entities. Standard difficulties vs specters however as they are still the same as they were oh so long ago.

Lore of the Realms and Wraith/Orpheus:

The current state of the Shadowlands (known as “Haven” to the Slayers) is described in Orpheus: End Game. The Spectre Breed War is in full swing; armies of formerly human Spectres led by the Malfeans rise and do battle with enormous monstrosities spawned by the alien and incomprehensible Grandmother.

Luckily for the fallen, these beings have no wish to tangle with the original masters of Creation, and will generally leave demons traveling in the Wasteland alone. However, Spectres are not known for their tolerance, and any demon interfering with their plans or throwing their lot in with the natives should expect to get attacked. For the purposes of standard gameplay, assume that any demon using Realms to transverse the Wasteland is safe unless a ST says otherwise.

Ghost Sight and Orpheus:

The Apocalyptic Form trait Ghost Sight allows the demon to see both Orpheus spooks and wraiths, as well as letting her distinguish between ghosts in the two worlds.

Thralls + Supernatural Woojas

No, thralls can not be ghouled, awakened, imbued, suffer the effects of pigment (Other than the heroin effect as stated by the Orpheus House rules), enchanted, go through chrysalis, be or become kinfolk, or become embraced by a vampire.

Awareness vs other supernaturals

Difficulty 8 -appropriate lore. This also works backwards however the appropriate lore for a fallen is going to be fallen lore. Demon lore doesn't work to lower the difficulty, neither does infernal lore.

Few Vampire Discipline break downs vs demon

Demontation -as a discipline relying on illusion and manipulation of the mind's perceptions of reality, is simply too weak and new to work on the very beings that pieced reality together one atom at a time. The connection of the Fallen to actual reality is too strong for the Blood to break.

Dominate - Doesn't work.

Obfuscate- Every level but Mask of a Thousand faces is considered mind control, which does not work on a demon. Mask however is considered illusionary, and functions as per Resistance to Illusions when against a demon.

Presence - Doesn't work on a demon.

Serpentis - Eyes of the Serpent- OH! Look pretty gold eyes. Doesn't work on a demon.

Thaumaturgy - Rituals - Ward Vs. Demon- Does not work on Fallen. Fallen weren't the demons Tremere's are used to summoning, warding against and yadda yadda. Those demons are considered INFERNALS. Not Fallen Angels.

Chimestry - Has the chance to work, as it is illusionary based. See Demonic Illusion Resistance rules.

Animalism - Quell the Beast - Works on Mortals, not Demons.

Auspex
Aura Perception - Demonic Auras are Gold if their torment is less than their willpower. Black if it is equal to or above their willpower score.

Necromancy- Bone Path - Soul Steal -
Demons can not be yanked from a body unless at 0 faith.

A vampire's kiss - considered mind control. Does not work. Instead of feeling good, it hurts like anything that pierced the skin would. (Still deals damage if stated as an attack first. Soak accordingly.)
